Shimano Beastmaster Commercial Features SHIMANO DYNAMIC RESPONSE The unique SDR construction process eliminates any spine forming during manufacture, meaning the blank action is always uniform regardless of which way the rod is bent. SDR keeps you in touch with each and every turn a fish makes, increasing sensitivity, strength and response reaction speed. BIOFIBRE Adding Biofibre reinforces the carbon fibres in all directions and is four times stronger than other carbon fibres. This gives outstanding strength, shock resistance, lightness and power. READY ROD SLEEVES & BANDS Every rod is complete with a ready rod sleeve so once the reel is attached the rod can be transported made up anywhere and be ready for use in seconds. Each rod is also complete with a set of Shimano neoprene rod bands that have been designed to be simple to attach. 2 PIECE TRANSPORT LENGTH Most rods in the range are 2 piece for made-up transport convenience. Rods with additional sections (extensions) will still collapse down into a convenient 2 pieces for easy transport. SHORT HANDLES The length of each handle has been reduced to 35cm from the reelseat to the butt, a universal length that will fit an anglers forearm perfectly. - No extra handle length to dig in or catch the waist, making the rod more like an extension of the arm. - Much more manoeuvrable when playing fish to the left or right. - Additional power can be added to the cast compared to longer bulky handles. SLIM DIAMETER HANDLES The Ultra Slim handle diameters lower the overall weight of the rod improving balance. Each rod fits the hand better, not feeling bulky with oversized reelseats. ROD LENGTH = DISTANCE / ACCURACY Certain rods are shorter than conventional rods, they have been designed this way because most commercial venues don’t need distance casts to get to the fish. The benefits of a shorter rod is more accurate casts, they are more nimble in the hand and less fish are lost at the net. SLIM DIAMETER BLANKS The blank of each rod has been kept down to a minimum with most blanks in the range being slimmer than a 5p piece . TAPERED EXTENSIONS Conventional Multi length rods usually include a parallel extension, this means that a rod is initially designed at the shorter length and then a simple parallel walled extension is added to make the rod longer, this creates a softer area and an un-natural action to the area the extension is applied. Both 9’ – 11’ commercial rods have 2 separate tapered middle sections meaning an extension is not needed, this results in 2 completely different rods designed to be the best at each length. BALANCE WEIGHTS With length taken from the handle a rod can feel more top heavy. This is corrected and vastly improved with the development of adjustable balance weights that screw internally to the base of the handle. - Separate 10g, 15g & 20g screw in weights that can be used in any combination, or without to balance the rod perfectly to the reel size and weight used. - Neutral balance at the reelseat – this gives the impression of the rod feeling lighter than it actually is. - A more responsive rod enabling you to pick up line at an instant and connect with the super fast bites. ERGONOMIC HANDLES - The flattened shape to the upper side of the base of the handle holds the forearm close to the blank and limits the rod slipping from the arm. - Ergonomically shaped grooves to the lower side of the base of the handle for finger placement when casting. SLOW TAPER All Commercial rods feature a slow taper to the blank (The thickness of the tip is bigger than other rods and the diameter of the butt is slimmer) The rod is soft when playing small fish because the curve of the rod starts further down and not just the tip but this also means it has the extra cushion needed on big fish and the rod does not lock up at any point. Other rods have either a powerful action in the tip that will bump small fish or a soft tip and fast action meaning the rod will eventually lock up under power. SPLICED QUIVERS Other rods have tips that push into a carrier section in which only one tip has been designed for that carrier section. Beastmaster Commercial rods have 3 separate top sections that have been designed independently producing a more natural action. PROGRESSIVE ACTION The feeder rods are design in the same way that small and big fish can be played on the same rod. The only choice is the length of rod which denotes the rods optimum range: 9-11ft – Close to Mid range 11ft 6in – Mid to Long range 12ft 6in – Long to Distance
