The Marksmen Specialist Float 13ft - £279 Featherweight in the hand and has a lovely crisp feel whilst casting, yet retains tremendous striking power. The overall action is super smooth, with our unique Anti-Lock helping you to land more fish.The Specialist Float 13ft is great for the finesse required for smaller silver fish using fine hooklengths and small hooks, but there’s also an underlying power lurking within its pleasing profile which will easily tame bigger fish. This rod has the all-round ability to land big fish on light line too. During field testing in competition Dave Coster landed three double figure carp - using a 0.12mm (3lb) trace and a medium wire size 18 hook. The Marksmen Specimen Float 13ft - £289 With the name Specimen on this 13-foot model you’d think it had been designed to handle bigger fish - and you’d be right. To many ‘power’ float rods have stiff, top-heavy actions, but not the Specimen Float. This rod is beautifully balanced, lightweight and altogether more subtle than other big fish rods. It retains the streamlined profile of its Specialist cousins, but exudes extra power from that slim, ultra high modulus blank. In fact it feels almost as light as a standard rod built for smaller fish, until you hook a monster and feel the power and control. This really is a big fish float rod that’s a joy to use for long periods on both rivers and stillwaters. With immense casting potential and cleverly integrated extra strength in the middle and butt sections, as well as the *Hardy Anti-Lock progressive fish playing action, this is a rod for anglers who want to stay in control at all times The Marksmen Specialist Float 14ft - £299 Offers more control than the shorter rod whilst retaining many of the characteristics. The action enables you to mend line very easily yet deliver excellent tip speed. Where performance is needed the Specialist Float 14ft comes into its own, with the extra length aiding casting distance without compromising striking speed. The combination of extra length, perfect balance and the *Hardy Anti-Lock fish-playing action really do make this a great rod for anglers wanting an all-round float rod. Demanding venues often require longer float rods to get the best from them, and generally the longer the rod, the better the control. In the past, this extra length often came with compromise.
